Bayern left fuming after controversial offside call

Drama unfolded as the German giants crashed out of the Champions League

"It's against all the rules of modern football," fumed Bayern star

Bayern Munich were left furious after a late offside decision went against them in their Champions League semi-final second leg against Real Madrid on Wednesday.

With the scores level at 1-1 on the night and 2-2 on aggregate, Bayern thought they had won the tie when Kingsley Coman scored in the 90th minute. However, the goal was ruled out for offside after a VAR review, much to the dismay of the Bayern players and fans.

"It's a disgrace," said Bayern star Thomas Müller. "The referee has made a huge mistake. It's clear that Coman was onside."

Bayern coach Julian Nagelsmann was also critical of the decision. "I can't understand how the referee can make such a mistake," he said. "It's unbelievable."

The decision proved to be a turning point in the match, as Real Madrid went on to win the tie 3-2 on aggregate. Bayern were left to rue what could have been, and they will be hoping for better luck next season.
